Hi, I’m Katie.
I’m a former hospice nurse, caregiver educator, writer, and the heart behind The Glow Keeper.
For more than a decade, I stood beside families during some of the hardest and most sacred moments of their lives, helping them navigate hospice, caregiving, decline, grief, and the quiet unknowns that come with loving someone through the end of life.
I created this space because I saw how many people were carrying fear, exhaustion, and heartbreak while trying to hold everything together.
The Glow Keeper is where I gently pull back the curtain on what hospice and grief really look like, in plain language, with honesty, warmth, and the kind of guidance that feels like a steady friend sitting beside you in the dark.
These are the principles that steady me as I walk beside families in their hardest seasons. They shape how I show up, how I speak, and how I hold the stories shared with me.
Supporting Families Through Caregiving and Loss
• Humanity– I believe in meeting people exactly where they are, without judgment or expectation.
• Dignity– I hold each person’s experience with care, recognizing the sacredness of this work.
• Gentleness– I offer guidance that softens the edges of fear, overwhelm, and uncertainty.
To Bring Clarity and Calm to Hard Moments
• Honesty– I speak plainly and gently, offering clear guidance.
• Presence– I show up with steadiness so no one has to face the hardest moments alone.
• Compassion– I honor every story with tenderness and respect, knowing how much courage it takes to keep going.
To Be a Steady Companion in Life’s Most Tender Seasons
• Calm – I create space for people to breathe, pause, and find their footing.
• Connection– I walk beside families with warmth, reminding them they are not alone.
• Care– I offer practical support wrapped in kindness, helping people move through each moment with grace.
“Losing my mom felt like the ground disappeared. Having something steady to hold onto made the quiet a little less scary. It helped me get through.”

“Your guidance helped me take things one moment at a time after the loss of my wife. It felt like someone finally understood what I was carrying.”

“Your words helped me breathe through the shock and the silence my mom left behind. You made me feel like I did not have to be strong every second to honor her.”
